EEI – Transient Stability
The order of the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy of April 23, 2008 defines requirements on electricity generating facilities connected to the public distribution and transmission networks.
Such facilities must remain in operation when a predefined voltage dip, such as that shown in the figure below, occurs at the point of common coupling of the facility. Such voltage dips correspond to a fault in the upstream HV network.
EXPER’ELEC INGENIERIE (EEI) has conducted numerous transient analysis studies for various customers, such as Clemessy, Dalkia, Leroy Somer, Cummins, Centrax, GDF-SUEZ, EDF-EN.
These studies are conducted using ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory software.
They either confirm the ability of the facility to meet the above-mentioned requirements or, if the requirements are not met, propose alternative solutions (resizing the alternator, controller modifications etc.).
